I Go to Asuka Area in Nara Prefecture / Takamatsuzuka Tumulus

I went to Takamatsuzuka Tumulus located in Asuka village of Nara prefecure.

The tomb is thought to have been built at some time between the end of the 7th century and the beginning of the 8th century.

It is said that the tumulus suffered from grave thieves around the Kamakura period; the southern wall of the stone chamber had an opening caused by grave thieves.

However the richly colors of the mural paintings kept almost intact and part of burial goods escaped grave robbing were discovered.

But, at the museum to which we went displayed only a replica of the the mural paintings.

The real mural paintings were stored in a conservation facility to avoid further deterioration.

I Walk Around Nara City

I think that just one week is not enough to see all Nara city around. There are many sightseeing places, temples, museums, shops, flowers and so on.

I'm sure that you can enjoy staying in the town any season it may be; the deer living the town should welcome you in every occasion.

I Meet Ubiquitous Deer in Nara

I found that there were no pet-dogs in Nara city.
If it was not correct, we could say that there were few dogs in the city.
People in the city respect the animal as messengers from God.
Maybe, dogs are prohibited from barking against the animal in Nara. lol

Wild Deer Are Everywhere in Nara City

Wild deer were wandering here and there in Nara city. Even on the streets in downtown area, they did not care where they were, when it was, with whom they were together.

Every car driver took utmost care of watching them and driving their car as careful as they could.

They never blew a car horn against deer which even tried to cross a road when traffic signal was red.

I felt that Nara citizens surely lived together with deer.

I Go to Tokyo

I went to Tokyo to celebrate the 88th birthday of my father-in-law yesterday.
We call it 'Beijyu' in Japanese.
Family members could get together after a long months of interval due to COVID-19.
All members of the party participants had wonderful time together.
After the party, my wife and I went to Ueno area in Tokyo and visited a museum and local temples.
We enjoyed staying in Tokyo very much.

Memory of Sumiyoshi-Taisha in Osaka

I was taking a picture of 'Taiko Bashi' bridge from on the nearest bridge at Sumiyoshi-taisha.

The honden is built in the Sumiyoshi-zukuri style and has been designated a national treasure on the grounds that it is the oldest example of this style of architecture.

Parts of most of buildings, including the bridge, were beautifully painted with orange-red color.
