I Go to Tokyo

I went to Tokyo to celebrate the 88th birthday of my father-in-law yesterday.
We call it 'Beijyu' in Japanese.
Family members could get together after a long months of interval due to COVID-19.
All members of the party participants had wonderful time together.
After the party, my wife and I went to Ueno area in Tokyo and visited a museum and local temples.
We enjoyed staying in Tokyo very much.

All photos of today's post were taken by my wife, Kiyono using her smartphone.

Hppy Birthday to My Father-In-Law

My father-in-law and some of my family members had a birthday party in Tokyo the other day.

I was not able to go to the party, though,  judging from the pictures taken by my wife, they must have had a wonderful moment together.

My Mother's 89th Birthday Party at Ohashikan

We celebrated my mother’s 89th birthday at Ohashikan which was a famous riverside hotel in Matsue city.

My elder brother planed the party rather small so as to be able to make parties easily and frequently for years to come.

Though my younger brother Koji lives in Kanagawa prefecture, just three hours from my home, it was the first time we met since five or six years before.

It was a fun to talk with him about trivial matters.

First class Japanese food were not only delicious but looked beautiful without exceptions.

I always feel guilty to eat them before taking their pictures

We Celebrate My Mother's 89th Birthday

My younger brother and I went back to my hometown to celebrate my mam's 89th birthday.
My daughters and my wife had sent potted flowers for presents before I arrived at home.
I took the picture of my mam holding the presents.

I found a pair of toys made of rice stalks displayed at Japanese style living room. One of them was a crane and the other was a tortoise. Cranes and tortoises are respected to as having a long life in Japan. Those two characters were best fit for her birthday.

Happy Birthday to Kiyono

We celebrated my wife, Kiyono's birthday the other day.

She got flowers as a birthday present from her close friend and a present from me.

We have to thank God for being able to have the day together peacefully; luckily there are no single Ebola virus infected patient, civil wars, nor lots of jobless people in my country.

My 54th Birthday

I had my 54th birthday on Feb 6th  last week.

My wife had asked her friend who ran her restaurant in the suburb of Utsunomiya city to make a birthday cake for me.

It looked nice and was, with no doubt, super delicious.

We had a small birthday party on the day.

Looking back to last one year, it was sort of a peaceful year.

I had no home moving, no work-related changes, no separation or sickness among my family.

My younger daughter Rina has finished two college entrance exams so far and is going to have another two in February.

Rina will leave us within two months for her college in Tokyo. ... sigh.

Rina Becomes 18 Years Old

Rina had her 18th birthday last week on January 8th.

We celebrated her birthday with her elder sister Emi, having a birthday cake bought by her grandma.

Rina is very busy for preparing her college entrance exams these days, but had a fun time for a little while.
