This site is a great viewpoint over St. Mary Lake, as well as a starting point for Sun Point Nature Trail, St. Mary Falls, and Virginia Falls trails.
The ‘hike’ to the Sun Point from the Sun Point parking area is about a 10-minute stroll with a spectacular viewing area.
The parking lot has a picnic area and bathroom facilities as well.
