I Go to Matsue Castle Park

I went to Matsue Castle park and Kou-un-kaku historical building alone while I was staying my hometown.

A few people were visiting the castle park and nobody was in Kou-un-kaku except two waitresses working at a coffee shop inside the building.

It is said that the construction of Kou-un-kaku was started in 1902 and completed in 1903.

 

I Go to Matsue Castle Park

It was a top season of cherry blossoms in Matsue city.
I had planed the trip, thinking about the best timing by checking a forecast of the cherry blooming top season in the area on the web.

There were plenty of cherry trees in Matsue Castle Park.

When I was a child, I often went to the park with my family members. One of my memories of my grandfather was that I walked to the park by holding my grandpa's hand to see cherry trees.

Apparently, it was more than fifty years ago.

Matsue Castle and Its Moat Secenery

I never fail to visit Matsue Castle whenever I go back to my hometown.

Matsue Castle and its moat area are one of top sightseeing spots.

It is said that the castle was built spending five years and was completed in 1611.

In 1875, all of the buildings were destroyed except the castle tower because of the government policy at that time.

The castle underwent a complete reconstruction between 1950 and 1955.
