The main street of Naha city. Kokusai-dori, "International Avenue" has one mile or 1.6 kilometer long stretch of stores, restaurants and bars.
We walked along the street twice.
It was rainning one day and it was clear the other day.
You can enjoy drinking, eating, or jeven ust seeing displays of the stores there.

Colorful Flowers and Leaves At The Side of Yachimun Street

Tsuboya ware is a type of Ryukyuan pottery traditionally produced in Tsuboya, a pottery district in the city of Naha.

It was December when we visited the town of Tsuboya. But, there were lots of colorful flowers and plants.

I Go To Shuri Castle #2

The last time when I stood in front of this Shureimon was almost half a century ago.

I was a college student at that time.

The memory of the gate slightly remains in the corner of my brain. Yes, just slightly does.

It is said that a large fire broke out and burned down the Seiden of Shuri Castle, the main hall, and also the Hokuden and Nanden, adjacent buildings to the north and south on the morning of 31 October 2019.

I hope reconstructions of the castle go well and complete as they planned.

I Go To Shuri Castle #1

The gates and various buildings were painted in red with lacquer.

The walls were also colorfully decorated, and roof tiles were made of Ryukyuan tiles.

It is said that Shuri Castle was operated not only as a base of political and military control, it was also regarded as a central religious sanctuary of the Ryukyuan people.

Trip to Okinawa Starts from Haneda Airport

We booked a late night flight from Haneda to Naha. So, we left Utunomiya for the airport around 4 o'clock in the evening. That was the beginning of our trip.

It took more than two hours on board, watching movies, reading books and checking e-mails with my laptop PC.

It was almost 12 in the morning when we arrived at our hotel in Naha city.

We ate delicious Okinawa tasting breakfast while reading tour guide books.
I rent a car and started our trip heading north with this "Lexus RX F Sport."
