Koriyama City Museum of Art

Hare and Bell / Barry Flanagan

I met a bronze statue of hare at  Koriyama City Museum of Art.
Barry Flanagan was an Irish-Welsh sculptor. He is best known for his bronze statues of hares and other animals.

Flanagan was born on 11 January 1941 in Prestatyn, North Wales.
He became an Irish citizen and lived in Dublin from 2000 to the year of his passing.

Irish Museum Of Modern Art, Utsunomiya Museum of Art and Kawakyu Company Hotel in Wakayama also have his bronze statue of hare.

Ohyasuba Kofun Cluster

The Ohyasaba Kofun Group, located in Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture, is estimated to date from the latter half of the early Kofun period.

The group consists of one *zenpo-koho-fun* (keyhole-shaped tomb with a rectangular rear section) and four circular burial mounds.

Tomb No. 1 is the largest *zenpo-koho-fun* in the Tohoku region; it has been designated a National Historic Site, and the surrounding area has been developed into the Oyasaba Historic Site Park.
