Pirates Bay in Eaglehawk Neck, Tasmania, is a 5 km stretch of white sand and turquoise water offering dramatic coastal scenery, top-tier surfing, and unique geological formations like the Tessellated Pavement.

Pirates Bay in Eaglehawk Neck  hosts a vulnerable Little Penguin colony, particularly during the summer breeding season (October–March). 

Visitors can see them return at dusk, but growing concerns over human interference—such as harassment, dog attacks, and illegal handling—have prompted calls for improved protection to save the colony from potential disappearance.

I Go To Cape Tourville In Freycinet National Park

The vibrant orange rocks scattered along the coastline of Freycinet National Park are colored by lichens.

The reason they are orange is that the lichens attached to the surface of the rocks appear a fiery orange.

Lichen: A hybrid colony of algae or cyanobacteria living symbiotically among filaments of multiple fungus species, along with bacteria.
