Kawaji Hot Spa Resort

In Kawaji Onsen, inns and hotels are situated along the Oga River, near the confluence of the Kinugawa and Oga rivers.

Back when Kinugawa-Onsen Station was known as Otaki Station (1922–1927), Oheya was the only inn in the area; today, that establishment operates under the name Livemax Resort Kawaji.

Ryuokyo Gorge

Ryuokyo Gorge is located along the upper reaches of the Kinugawa River in Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture.

Situated between Kinugawa Onsen and Kawaji Onsen, it is a scenic spot within Nikko National Park.

Formed by the erosion of volcanic rock over a stretch of approximately three kilometers, the gorge is characterized by rugged, exposed rock faces.

It was named "Ryuokyo" (Dragon King Gorge) because the landscape evokes the image of a dragon thrashing about wildly.

I Go to Mushroom Mountain

Two hours driving brought my wife and me to a hot spring area located north of my home town.

We visited a local temple and walked into a mountain trail from the backyard of it.

Unexpectedly, we found various mushrooms here and there.

The mushroom in the left picture was the biggest one.

I guess that the weather and the temperature at that time fit their ecological system perfectly.
