I Go To Ishidake-Tenbodai To See Kujyu-kushima

 

We went to Ishidake-tenboudai sigtseeing place to see Kujyu-kushima.

The Last Samurai staring Ken Watanabe in the title role, with Tom Cruise is a 2003 action drama film.

The beginning of the islands' scene, Kujyu-kushima, was taken from the sigtseeing place.

I Take a Walk in Hirado City

I took a walk around Hirado harbor area for about an hour. There were old houses and shops at both side of the main street.

We could see beautiful ocean, a lighthouse and ships going to and fro. 

I Go To Shimabara City in Nagasaki Prefecture

We went to Shimabara city.

Shimabara city is located on the north-eastern tip of the Shimabara Peninsula, facing Ariake Bay in the east and Mount Unzen in the west.

The popular tourist destination within the area is Shimabara Castle and the nearby "Samurai Residence."

Samurai residence is located on the west side of the Shimabara castle.

The area was a residence town where the lower-class samurai used to live.

That Ashigaru and gun craftsmen used to live here.

I Go To Hirado City in Nanasaki

We visited St. Francis Xavier Memorial Church and Kohmyoji Temple in Hirado city.

The "Hidden Christian Sites of the Nagasaki and Amakusa Regions" were designated as world heritage sites in July 2018.

This scenic place was popular for tourists where they could take a picture of both church and temple together.

I Go to Unzen Jigoku in Nagasaki

About one hour drive from Nagasaki city broght us to Unzen city.

It is said that Unzen area was designated as the first national park in Japan in 1934.

Unzen Jigoku was surrounded by barren fields of hot springs contain many steam vents, bubbling mud pits and fumaroles.

I Go to Ikitsuki Island in Nagasaki

I went to Ikitsuki island via Sasebo city. The west coast of the island was best fit for driving, especially at the time of sunset.

The road was called Sunsetway had several times been used for TV CM of car company such as Toyota. 

We found that the road was scheduled to be closed for filming of TV CM on the next day of our visit.

How lucky we were, visiting just one day before the shooting!

I Go To Nagasaki Shinchi Chinatown

I went to a Chinese restaurant near our hotel in Nagasaki city.

The restaurant is located in Nagasaki Shinchi Chinatown where lots of Chinese restaurants were open.

My wife and I chose one of them called Saiko and ate delicious Chinese food. 

It was raining outside. Nagasaki city is famous for its frequent rainy weather.

I Go To Nagasaki Prefecture

There were lots of ups and downs. Every road was narrow and winding. These are quite common in Nagasaki city. 

This feature makes the scenery of Nagasaki so beautiful.

I went to Sakamoto Ryoma museum located on the top of a hill in the city one day before yesterday.
