Yellow Crucian Carp Decorations

There is an old tale in my city Utsunomiya.

The story goes like this,

When an unknown epidemic struck the city, catching and eating yellow crucian carp from the river running in the middle of the city had saved many people's lives long, long ago.

Municipal workers have decorated the town with yellow fish shaped boxes and illuminations having a red head and a green fin praying for early recovery from COVID-19 epidemic.

Mt. Fuji and a Newly Built Athletic Field

Mt. Fuji is always beautiful but winter is the best, I guess.

Because the air is clearer now in winter than any other season.

Especially, changing colors during sunset is splendid.

The newly built athletic field, built almost half a year ago, has not been used because of the COVID-19.

Bamboo Forest and Japanese Cranes

My younger daughter, my wife and I went to 'Utsunomiya Romantic Village' to spend one of our new year holidays.

There were a small zoo that took care of Japanese cranes, a bamboo forest, a hot spa, vegetable shops and a botanical garden in the village.

I met my younger daughter for the first time since one year ago. We enjoyed walking about the village for almost half a day.

Butterfly Garden in Igashira Park II

The butterfly lived with lots of fellows and beautiful flowers.

Heaven might be like here this garden, mightn't it?

I Go to Botanical Garden at Igashira Park

The botanical garden kept not only plants and flowers but also kept cute birds in the same area. Toco toucan was one of them.

Flowers were, of course, beautiful.

In addition to the flowers, those birds gave spices to visitors to the garden.
