I Go To Carrowmore Megalithic Cemetery

Mountain of Knocknarea

Carrowmore is a large group of megalithic monuments on the Coolera Peninsula to the west of Sligo, Ireland.

They were built in the 4th millennium BC, during the New Stone Age.

There are thirty surviving tombs, making Carrowmore one of the largest clusters of megalithic tombs in Ireland.

Carrowmore is the heart of an ancient ritual landscape which is dominated by the mountain of Knocknarea to the west. It is a protected National Monument.

I Go To Cong Abbey In Ireland

Cong Abbey is a ruined medieval abbey where the last High King of Ireland, spent his last years.
It also is the origin of a piece of Celtic art in the form of a metal cross shrine called the Cross of Cong.
The 'Cross of Cong' is now held in the National Museum of Ireland, Dublin.

The most striking feature of the 42.6 metre long great church is the three lancet east windows shown in the image above and the tombstone paved floor.

We Stay At "Clarendon" B&B In Ireland

A bed and breakfast (typically shortened to B&B or BnB) is a small lodging establishment that offers overnight accommodation and breakfast.

In addition, a B&B sometimes has the hosts living in the house.

In Ireland, B&Bs can be townhouses, farmhouses, or country houses.
There are about 3,000 B&Bs spread throughout the country.

Stairway From The Entrance To Rooms

We usually used B&Bs in Ireland, contrary to big hotels in Paris.
The bed room was on the first floor, so we carried our bags up through this stairway.
The room was standard twin room with shared bathroom.
The price of BnB was very reasonable.
