The LSU Rural Life Museum In Baton Rouge

The LSU Rural Life Museum exhibits materials from the cultures of 18th and 19th century rural Louisianans.  

It holds the largest collection of Louisiana vernacular architecture and the most extensive collection of material culture items from the 18th and 19th centuries.  

The museum includes 32 historic outbuildings and are divided into four sections:  the Working Plantation, the Upland South Region, the Gulf Coast Region, and an Exhibit Barn.

The New Louisiana State Capitol

The New Louisiana State Capitol in Baton Rouge is the tallest capitol building in the United States, standing 137 meter tall across 34 stories. 

Completed in 1932 as a striking example of Art Deco Moderne architecture, it serves as the seat of state government and is open to the public daily.

Louisiana Old State Capitol Museum

The Old Louisiana State Capitol, also known as the State House, is a historic government building, and now a museum located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

It housed the Louisiana State Legislature from the mid-19th century until the current capitol tower building was constructed from 1929-32.
