Tupelo Baldcypress Swamp

The Tupelo-Baldcypress Swamp is a vital, flooded wetland ecosystem where Bald Cypress (deciduous conifers) and Water Tupelo (broadleaf trees) dominate.

Thriving in deep standing water, these trees feature flared "buttress" trunks for stability and "knees" protruding from roots to assist in oxygen intake.
